No. 9 UC Davis heads to Montana State for another Big Sky Conference showdown | FINAL

DAVIS, Calif. — The No. 9 UC Davis Aggies will travel to Montana this Saturday for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff against the Bobcats in another Big Sky Conference game. 

No. 9 UC Davis enters its 10th game of the season looking to build on last week’s strong win over the Idaho Vandals. 

The Aggies opened that game with touchdowns on their first two drives and never lost momentum.

Montana State, meanwhile, comes into the weekend on an offensive tear. The Bobcats have scored 121 points in their last two outings and continue to rank among the top offenses in the FCS. 

Quarterback Justin Lamson is one of the nation’s most accurate passers, sitting second in the FCS in completion percentage.

MSU averages 450 yards per game (14th in the country) and 38.9 points per contest (10th nationally). The Bobcats’ defense has been just as dominant, allowing only 72 points across their last eight games. 

They rank seventh in scoring defense (16.1 points allowed) and 10th in total defense (296.7 yards allowed). At home, they’ve given up just 34 first-half points across six games this season.

UC Davis arrives in Bozeman with plenty of momentum of its own. Samuel Gbatu Jr. recorded his fourth straight 100-yard performance last week, finishing with seven catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. 

Ian Simpson also delivered a standout game, posting 63 yards and a score.

Quarterback Caden Pinnick continued his efficient stretch as well, completing 21 of 27 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns. 

In total, the Aggies surpassed 400 yards of offense against Idaho while the defense held the Vandals under 300.

Both teams enter Saturday playing their best football of the season — setting the stage for a high-stakes Big Sky matchup under the lights.
