Tweets from the outlet’s verified account falsely claimed New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin—who currently serves as a Congressman from New York—will commit acts of sexual assault on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
The tweets, which have been deleted, also say Texas Gov. Greg Abbott plans to kill “illegals,” and cryptically calls for the assassination of Rep. Alexandria Ocassio Cortes (D-N.Y.), President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
One tweet linked to a deeply racist diatribe, styled to look like a legitimate story, against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, with fabricated racist, violent and stereotypical quotes from Zeldin.
