New state-of-the-art equestrian facility opens in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park

A new facility in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park will help bring equestrian sports to more underserved children and young adults.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, organizers from Work To Ride held a ribbon-cutting for McCausland Arena, their new indoor area at the Chamounix Equestrian Center.

“The McCausland Arena allows us to serve more young people, foster a love of equestrian sports, and positively impact the community,” says Leslie Hiner, Founder of Work to Ride. “Our new space will serve as a foundation for education, life skills, and dreams that stretch far beyond the saddle, ensuring that the values and impact of Work to Ride benefit generations to come.”

The new 44,000-square-foot facility features a variety of new spaces, including a state-of-the-art indoor arena and barn, allowing the organization to offer lessons and host events year-round.

“Work to Ride has always been about building community, opening doors, and creating opportunities for young people who might not otherwise have them,” said Kareem Rosser, Executive Vice President of Work to Ride, Author, and Polo Champion. “Seeing the program grow with the new arena is inspiring, and I’m proud to play a part in its expansion. My greatest hope is that the McCausland Arena will continue to offer the same life-changing opportunities I experienced, while strengthening the bonds of our community for years to come.”
