A new restaurant is bringing “the vibrant traditions of India“ to Charlotte’s dining scene.
Raahi Art of India is now open in South End, occupying the former Brown Bag Seafood Co. spot on West Worthington Avenue.
The restaurant soft launched in September, and the official grand opening is slated for late October or early November, owner Anandakumar Chakkaravarthi told CharlotteFive.
Chakkaravarthi also owns Cholanadu Indian Bistro in Fort Mill, and his latest venture will have similar offerings. Guests can expect traditional recipes crafted with spices and regional culinary techniques found across India.
“Each dish we create is a reflection of India’s diverse culinary heritage, prepared with aromatic spices, fresh ingredients, and time-honored recipes passed down through generation,” the restaurant’s website says.
The menu features classic plates such as tandoori chicken, tikka masala and vindaloo — a spicy curry dish made with tomato sauce, chilis and vinegar.
Samosas are also on the menu, alongside small plates of honey cauliflower and a spicy prawn dish called Eral Thokku.
Lunch and dinner service are available at the restaurant, which is closed Mondays.
