New Music Friday: Summer Walker, Wale, Cardi B & More Drop Fresh Tunes

New Music Friday has come around yet again, and this time, the lineup is extra stacked, starting with the long-awaited album from Summer Walker.

The R&B star completes her “Over” It trilogy with the final installment, “Finally Over It.” After a flawless wedding-themed rollout, the sultry vocalist has unveiled the 18-track project with features from Mariah the Scientist, Latto, Chris Brown, and Bryson Tiller on disc one. She follows up with Sailorr, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Monaleo, 21 Savage, Brent Faiyaz, and Teddy Swims on disc two. Walker explores the highs and lows of heartbreak and the rediscovery that takes place after the dust settles. The project arrives just days after Walker earned two Grammy nominations for the album’s lead single, “Heart of a Woman.” Entering a new era, “Finally Over It” showcases not only Walker’s soul but also her incomparable growth.

Another highly anticipated album has arrived: Wale’s “Everything Is a Lot.” His eighth studio album follows 2021’s “Folarin II” and stays true to his D.C. lyricism as he flows effortlessly over 18 tracks, touching on life, love, and everything in between. His feature list is filled with nothing but heat, with appearances from Bnyx, Leon Thomas, Teni, Seyi Vibez, ODUMODUBLVCK, Odeal, Sherly Ann Padre, Andra Day, Ty Dolla $ign, JTA, Nino Paid, and last but not least, Shaboozey.

Just ahead of New Music Friday, Cardi B delivered a Jeezy remix of “ErrTime.” Since she unveiled “Am I the Drama?” Bardi Gang has rallied for a Jeezy feature over the beat. Having unveiled the first remix featuring Latto, Belcalis doubled back with Snowman. She even took things a step further by releasing a version with all three of them. Fans also have the option to listen strictly to Cardi and Jeezy on the track. While the Bronx diva has made it clear she won’t drop an “Am I the Drama?” deluxe, she continues to put new twists on the project, a touch that her day ones appreciate.
