New listings in Houston towered over 2023 volumes for the eleventh straight week in 2024, according to the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) Weekly Activity Snapshot for the week ended March 18.

Realtors added 3,359 new properties into the MLS, a 36.7% increase year over year. Both pending and closed listings, however, remained relatively flat. Pending listings rose 1% year over year, with 2,406 properties going under contract; closings declined 1.6% year over year, with 1,561 homes sold.

Both property showings and listing views on HAR.com increased annually, though, indicating strong consumer interest for the spring and summer homebuying season. Showings increased by 2.8% year over year, while online listing views jumped 37.7%.
