Natasha Hamilton has delivered a fair few underrated bangers since launching her eagerly-awaited solo career, but our favourite so far is Numb. The track is written by Natasha with Andy Gannon – with Gannon also producing the track’s slick energetic electropop production.
Delivered with a dramatic cool, the number begins as a mid-tempo beat before building into a fiery-dancefloor driven chorus. The electropop anthem is a powerful and defiant new direction for the British pop legend, with the energy of the song matching her decision to form her own record label. Hopefully this leads to a solo album from Natasha in the vein of Numb. Natasha shared with fans: “My new single Numb is out now, via my own new record label. This is the start of a new me, taking back control of myself and my career.”
Natasha says: “Numb was written in that space where you realise survival isn’t the same as living. It’s about noticing when you’ve shut down emotionally and deciding to feel again, even when it’s uncomfortable. This song marks a turning point for me creatively. It’s honest, grounded and exactly where I am now.”
Natasha released her debut solo single Edge of Us in 2024, after a truly impressive career as part of Atomic Kitten from 1999 onwards. The group would release hits including Right Now, Whole Again and Eternal Flame.
