Multiple agencies respond to reports of plane down in water near Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) — Multiple agencies are responding to reports of a plane crash near Galveston on Monday afternoon.

The Coast Guard confirmed it got a report at 3:20 p.m. of a crash west of the Galveston Causeway. The Coast Guard said it has launched a boat and a helicopter to search for the plane, which has not yet been located.

Officials have not revealed why the plane went down or how many passengers were aboard.

No injuries have been reported.
