High winds battered the summit on Monday.

Mount Washington experienced its highest wind gusts of the winter season on Monday, with several of the impacts of the howling weather captured on video throughout the day.

According to the Mount Washington Observatory, the high winds resulted in blowing and drifting snow over the course of the day.

“Winds began gusting over 100 mph yesterday morning, slowly building through the day before reaching a crescendo shortly before 6pm EST (7pm EDT) with winds becoming sustained in the mid-120s with gusts up to 150 mph,” observatory staff wrote on Facebook.

The wind gusts peaked at 150 mph, according to the observatory, which shared a video that recorded some of the weather’s effects, including a “river” of blowing snow and freezing fog whipped overhead.
