Microchip Technology shares tumble on weak semiconductor demand

Shares of Microchip Technology Inc. fell 10% on Aug. 2 after the Chandler-based semiconductor company reported weak demand, an ongoing inventory correction and challenges with the CHIPS Act grant process during its first quarter of fiscal 2025.
