MassPike overnight construction this week

BOSTON (WWLP) – Drivers using the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) during the overnight hours this week should be prepared for delays.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), work crews will be conducting traffic marking, guardrail, and bridge repairs both eastbound and westbound in the Otis, Blandford, Stockbridge, West Stockbridge areas of the highway.

The work will take place Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17 from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. While there will be lane closures, traffic will be allowed through the work zones at a slower rate of speed.

The schedule for the work and lane closures is as follows: 

Otis/Blandford 

• Traffic marking operations will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 21.0 to 27.0, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18. 
• Bridge work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 22.5, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18. 

Stockbridge/West Stockbridge 

• Bridge repair work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 1.0 to 3.0, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, October 18. 
• Guardrail work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 4.0 to 4.5, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, October 18. 
• Guardrail work will also be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 5.6 to 6.5, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, October 18. 

Stockbridge 

• Bridge repair work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound at mile marker 6.4, Tuesday night, October 15, through Thursday night, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18. 

The work is weather-dependent and subject to change. There will be law enforcement details, signs and messaging to guide drivers.
