GAITHERSBURG, Md. — A Gaithersburg man was arrested in Texas on Monday in connection with his partner’s death a day earlier.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, 39-year-old Luis Antonio Quintanilla is accused of shooting 35-year-old Maritza Ferman Sorto to death.

Officers were called to the 9000 block of Centerway Road for reports of a shooting shortly before 2:45 a.m. on Sunday. When first responders arrived at the home the couple shared, they found Sorto outside. She had been shot and died a short time later.
