A manhunt is underway in Nebraska after police say a man fired at officers who were attempting to serve an arrest warrant.Nebraska state troopers said they are looking for 42-year-old Jason Davenport.He was described as a white male, 6-foot-3, and 170 pounds.Around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, law enforcement came to an Omaha residence to locate Davenport who was a suspect in another investigation. When law enforcement approached the residence, police said Davenport came out firing a handgun.Multiple state troopers and one Omaha police officer responded, firing their weapons at Davenport.A trooper cruiser was struck by gunfire in the incident.Troopers said Davenport took a female who was in the residence hostage as he fled the scene in a gray Ford Fusion.Law enforcement pursued him, but they eventually lost sight of him. They said Davenport may have been injured during the gunfire exchange.SWAT has been activated, and officers are actively searching for Davenport.Law enforcement and hospitals in both Nebraska and Iowa are aware of the incident and to be on the lookout. Police said no officers or troopers were injured in the incident.Troopers said if anyone knows of Davenport’s whereabouts, to call 911 immediately.He is considered armed and dangerous.
