(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department is searching for a suspect who allegedly fled during a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon, leaving behind drugs and a gun.

Around 4:30 p.m. SPD pulled over a vehicle in South Sacramento for a traffic stop. The driver allegedly failed to yield to officers, and a pursuit ensued. After a short police chase, the suspect footbailed and fled in the area of 12th Avenue and 44th Street, according to SPD.
Police established a perimeter to search for the suspect with a K9 and a helicopter. However, they were unable to locate the suspect.
