Man who police say fatally shot 3, himself in Mount Washington identified

Police have identified the man who they say killed three people before shooting himself in Mount Washington on Aug. 31.

Samuel Ericksen, 26, was accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Eden Adugna, 20-year-old Feven Adugna and 27-year-old Bemnet Deresse near a home at the intersection of Beacon Street and Glade Avenue around 1:30 p.m., police said.

Ericksen turned the gun on himself that same day and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with critical injuries. He died due to the self-inflicted injury on Sept. 2, police said in a news release.

Eden Adugna and Feven Adugna, who both worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital, died at the scene while Deresse was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he later died.

No information on the connection between the victims of the shooting and the gunman was immediately available Wednesday. The shooting is still under investigation.

Police are asking those with information about the shooting to call 513-352-3542.
