Police officers are investigating a train crash that killed a man Tuesday night in Durham.
According to the Durham Police Department, the crash happened around 5:39 p.m. when a train was traveling east and hit a man walking in its path. The train conductor blew the horn to alert the man, but the man did not stop and was hit by the train.
The man died at the scene.
Police said the following intersections are closed while they investigate the crash and asked drivers to find detours:
- Ninth Street at West Main Street.
