Man jumps off Hagg Lake pier, drowns

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man apparently drowned in Hagg Lake early Saturday evening after jumping off the pier, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said on X.

The search for the man, who is in his 30s, began around 7:10 p.m. He jumped off the pier, came to the surface and then struggled to swim before going under again.

The man was not found in the immediate search. A recovery effort is underway with help from the Dive Team of the Lake Oswego Fire Department. Authorities told KOIN 6 News the man’s body has been located.

No further information is available at this time. KOIN 6 News will update this story as events develop.
