SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 32-year-old San Francisco man faces an attempted murder charge for a stabbing incident last month in the city’s Inner Richmond neighborhood that injured five people.

‘I will blow your dog away,’ SFPD officer tells man before shooting

The San Francisco Police Department said its officers responded to the Oct. 24 incident at 2:10 a.m. on the 3900 block of Geary Boulevard.

Five victims were found at the scene suffering from non-life-threatening injuries due to a knife assault, according to San Francisco PD. Four of those individuals were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment while a fifth victim was medically assessed at the location.

“Preliminary investigation revealed a suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with multiple individuals inside a business,” said police in a news release. “The verbal altercation turned into a physical altercation where multiple victims were assaulted by the suspect with a knife.”

Investigators were later able to identify the suspect as Joncarlo Gutierrez. Gutierrez was taken into custody on Nov. 14 by SFPD plainclothes officers in the area of Richland Avenue and Mission Street.

According to a San Francisco Sheriff’s Office jail log, Gutierrez was transported to county jail where he faces several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon-not a firearm and mayhem.

He is being held on $1 million bail while he awaits his next court date on Dec. 4.
