Man arrested in NY in connection with February Fayetteville homicide case

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — Fayetteville Police said Wednesday that an arrest has been made in a February homicide case.

US Marshals arrested Christopher Quinton Cowans, 35, in connection with the Feb. 21 killing of Mark Anthony Singletary, 35, of Fayetteville.

Cowans was arrested in New York on Sept. 16 and brought back to Fayetteville on Tuesday. He was charged with first-degree murder.

The deadly incident happened in the early morning hours near Bragg Boulevard and Winston Avenue.

Cowans was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on no bond.
