PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — Major injuries were reported after a big rig crash involving a semi truck, officials said.
According to Caltrans, the crash happened along westbound Interstate 80, near Baxter, in Placer County.
Cal Fire said there were multiple semi truck crashes with major injuries.
Few details surrounding the crash have been released at this time, but the eastbound lanes of I-80 and one lane of I-80 westbound are open, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Amazon is aware of the crash and is looking into it.
Louie Tran, a spokesperson for Amazon, said the company expresses its sympathies and concern for those involved in the collision.
