At the Lodi City Council meeting on Wednesday, the Mayor proposed that the council approve a resolution, and send it to Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Secretary of State to raise awareness of the implications of the proposition, the City of Lodi said.

“Under the proposed changes, Lodi would be divided into three separate congressional districts,” Bregman explained.

Prop. 50 will be placed on a ballot of a special election being held on Nov. 4, according to officials. The proposition will authorize temporary changes to the Congressional District Maps of California.

“I urge the residents of our city to continue fighting, with determination and persistence, for fair and equitable representation. Your voice matters—and together, we will make it heard,” Bregman said.
