The Emmerdale actress and presenter discusses potentially going on I’m a Celebrity and admitted what it was like working on Loose Women.
Speaking exclusively to online casino Betway, Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley revealed that ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has ‘dangled the carrot’ at her to join the upcoming series.
The TV presenter and actor also opened up a potential comeback as host of You’ve Been Framed, as well as revealing what it was like to work on Loose Women, admitting to her favourite co-host on the show.
There are a lot of rumours going around that you might be doing I’m a Celebrity this year. Is it true?
Well, maybe it’s the year when I really need to think about going in. I don’t know! But listen, they ask me every year – the carrot is always dangled.
So, I’m not going to say yes or no, but all I can say is, maybe it is something I should think about doing after seeing all of the love for me going in or for potentially doing it is unbelievable. Maybe it’s something I should really think about in the future, and apparently, I would be the favourite to win it, or so they say.
You said it would be something you’d like to do before 50, and you are now 49 years old?
I’ve said this before, and as a bucket list thing to do in life, then yes maybe it is a thing to do before I am 50, but there are lots of things I want to do before I am 50 in July. I said yes, this might be the one to think about doing or the year after, when it would be the year of my 50th. There are many options.
Jumping out of a plane is one of the classic jungle entrances. Could you handle that?
If I were to do anything regarding any of the tasks, then I am the sort of person who doesn’t overthink anything; I would just take it hands-on and tackle it.
Of anything or any part of the show, if I were to think about doing it, it would be like Dancing on Ice; there is always a danger in these programmes, and danger comes with it. Even with Celebrity Bake Off, there are things that can happen.
In the jungle, there are spiders, bugs, snakes, rats. Is there anything that scares you?
You’re talking like I’m already going! Oh, there are various things I am scared of and walking under ladders is one of them. It’s not just a case of [bugs and snakes], in life you can be scared of lots of things, and bad manners is a good one to be scared of.
You also hosted You’ve Been Framed. If they revived it, would you consider doing it again?
I absolutely would. That kind of show is exactly what people need, but the flip side is, people would just say go on your phone and watch people falling over all of the time on TikTok. I love it, but I would be well up for it.
You could do five nights a week, and all of the presenters could do one night each. As the only female presenter on the show, of course, I think it should be the girl who presents it.
When I hosted it, the figures were incredible, and back then, to be a woman on prime-time TV was rare, and we were doing between 11.5 to 13 million viewers every Saturday. I am proud of that. You’ve Been Framed is a great concept. It is a programme where you can escape.
Loose Women – you were on it for a while. What was it like?
Loose Women is fantastic, and the producers produce the show, but they allow us to stamp our personalities and debates on it. If we’re passionate about a topic, we push it, and they let us do it.
Being a Loose Woman is brilliant, I always describe it as Christmas where you have a different selection of Roses [chocolates] and there is a strawberry, a caramel, a dark chocolate and a vanilla. Those four different flavours bring something different.
But you wouldn’t necessarily put all four in your mouth at the same time. It is different, and that is what brings different conversations because we all have unique opinions. The world would be so stagnant if we were all the same.
Who was your favourite co-host on Loose Women and who did you have the strongest chemistry with?
Jane Moore. She was amazing. During a time when I had skin surgery and was vulnerable, she was there for me off-screen and on-screen.
She has a huge heart, and she genuinely cares. I love her so much, she is a beautiful person, and I am so grateful for when she helped me at a time when I didn’t have my mum and I needed her the most, at a time when I was frightened.
But my favourite to watch on Loose Women is, by far, Ruth. She is my favourite to watch.
