‘Lioness’ star Nicole Kidman boards Dallas-set legal thriller for Paramount+

Nicole Kidman is currently in North Texas shooting a television show and has already lined up her next project set in the region.

Kidman is one of the stars of Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness,” which was renewed for a third season by Paramount+ last week and began filming in Fort Worth this week. The series is already closing roads in Cowtown near the TCU area.

Earlier this week, Deadline reported that Kidman had signed on to star in the legal thriller series “Discretion.” The show, which comes from A24 and Paramount+, is based on author Chandler Baker’s yet-to-be-released short story of the same name.

Elle Fanning has also come on board to star. Here’s the show’s logline:

“Lenny (Fanning), a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm, uncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth. When she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner Sharon (Kidman) — upending their mentor-protégé dynamic and raising the question: who gets to keep secrets, and at what cost?”

Nicole Kidman to star in Dallas-set show

It’s unclear whether “Discretion” will film in Dallas, but it will be set in Big D.

The story comes from Baker, who grew up in Dallas, and is based on her time as a corporate lawyer negotiating “hundreds of NDAs a year.” Baker said she wrote the story in two days this summer.

“This is my dream project with a dream team and dream partners,” Baker wrote on Facebook. “And thank you to everyone in my corner who didn’t take their eye off the ball on this one for even a second.”

“Discretion” will be Kidman’s latest project with Texas ties, after the past two seasons of “Lioness.”

The spy series filmed Season 1 in Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C., Paris and Mallorca, Spain. For Season 2, the series primarily filmed in and around North Texas, including in Fort Worth, Weatherford, Strawn, Stephenville and Glen Rose.

Kidman was also recently seen in Dallas at an event for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. It was her first public appearance since filing for divorce from Keith Urban.

It’s unclear when “Lioness” will finish shooting in North Texas and when or whether “Discretion” will start.
