Late summer heat wave

[ad_1]

PORTLAND, Oregon — The sky stays clear, and the temperatures heat up. Offshore winds develop late Wednesday as warm air aloft moves overhead.

Temperatures crank into the mid-90s Wednesday before launching into the 100-degree range Thursday and Friday.

Portland has never hit 100-degrees later in the year than September 5. We should tie that record Thursday and have a chance to break it Friday.

Thunderstorms may develop Friday night or Saturday over parts of Oregon, but cooler weather returns Saturday and Sunday.

Next week brings highs back down into the 70s, with showers on Tuesday.
