Large propane tank knocks out attempted murder suspect in Placer County

(FOX40.COM) — An attempted murder suspect’s attempt to flee from law enforcement was thwarted by a sturdy propane tank on Wednesday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 6 p.m., a vehicle connected to an attempted murder suspect with a Ramey warrant was spotted in the Elverta area by a deputy.

The deputy began following the man while awaiting backup to arrive. The man stopped the vehicle on Browning Street in Elverta.

Initially, the man followed orders to surrender but ran as deputies approached to place him under arrest.

Deputies say he didn’t get far as the man ran straight into a large propane tank and fell to the ground.

He was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and booked into the Placer County Jail.
