Lamar Consolidated Independent School District purchased 15 acres of land to build a new elementary school within The George master-planned community in Fort Bend County.
The purchase was made through a $1.7 billion bond approved in November 2022.
“A community where parents can walk their children to school or kids can bike to school is an essential part of the vision we have for The George,” Vice President and General Manager Derek Goff said in a press release. “We aspire to create a true hometown for our residents and quality schools are vital to achieving that.”
One additional parcel of land at The George is reserved for a future school.
