King Haakon VII’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Royal Guests and Relatives gathered from Denmark and Britain to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King Haakon VII of Norway in Oslo on this day in 1930, 95 years ago, marking the 25th Anniversary of his Succession to an independent Norwegian Throne!

King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, Prince George of the United Kingdom, Prince Harald and Princess Thyra of Denmark joined King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Norway as well as Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Märtha to celebrate the Jubilee at the Royal Palace of Oslo.

King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Norway (wearing the Maltese Circlet Tiara) were joined by his brother and sister-in-law, King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark (in her Fringe Tiara), for a Gala Performance at the National Theatre in Oslo.

The Norwegian Government held a Gala Dinner at the Akershus Fortress, at which King Haakon VII and Queen Maud (wearing the Vifte Tiara) were joined by Crown Prince Olav, Crown Princess Märtha (in Queen Sophia’s Diamond Bracelet Bandeau), and Prince George.
