Jessie Ware delivers a slice of cinematic pop camp with her latest single Ride, the second cut to be taken from her upcoming album Superbloom. Featuring a sample of Ennio Morricone’s score from cult spaghetti western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the number is a distinctive new flavour from Jessie.
The British singer-songwriter shares: “’Ride’ was the first song I wrote for this record. I made it in 2024 with my best friend Jack Peñate and Karma Kid, who feature throughout the album. It’s a song for the clubs, for the dancefloor – fun, cinematic, cheeky and powerful. I first performed it at NYC Downlow at Glastonbury after headlining West Holts, and I’ve been waiting two years to finally put it out. I know others have been waiting too… So here it is. You’re welcome.”
With numbers like Kylie and Orville Peck’s Midnight Ride and now Jessie’s Ride, we are well and truly here for this era of country dance-pop. Jessie has already released I Could Get Used to This from her album Superbloom, a track which sticks to a similar glossy danceable pop of previous albums What’s Your Pleasure? and That! Feels Good! The album arrives on the 10th of April.
