JD Vance to make campaign stop in Raleigh next week
[ad_1]
Ohio Sen. JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, will visit Raleigh on Wednesday.
Vance, who was tapped by former President Donald Trump to be his running mate, will deliver remarks at a rally on Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. at Union Hall in downtown Raleigh, according to the Trump-Vance campaign.
Doors will open at noon, and remarks will begin at 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, Vance was in Greenville for a private fundraising event. In August, Trump and Vance held a rally in Asheboro.
This will be Vance’s first stop in Raleigh since becoming Trump’s pick for vice president. A planned visit in early August was canceled due to Hurricane Debby.
Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris are in a statistical tie in North Carolina, but Vice President Harris held a slight edge, in an exclusive WRAL News Poll of the 2024 presidential race.
The poll was conducted before Tuesday’s presidential debate in Philadelphia.
North Carolina is a pivotal state to both campaigns, one of seven key states that will likely decide the election. Harris held events in Charlotte and Greensboro on Thursday.
