Why are we expected to constantly be connected? twenty years ago we’d probably talk on the phone every few days and see each other once a week. A hundred and twenty years ago we’d write each other letters and sit in my aunt’s foyer while she decides if you can afford my dowry. Today we’ve seen each other three times, and I think you’re cute, I think you’re funny, I want to see you again, but you texting me every twenty minutes is turning me off. I’ve got a life to live, a job to go to, shitty cafes to sit in front of and stare at nothing. I’m not “ghosting” you, you’re just not the only thing in my life.
