[ad_1]

Thursday is the fourth day of the Issiah Ross double murder trial that examines the deaths of Lyric Woods and Devin Clark from September 2022.

More witnesses are expected to speak and the state will present its case.  The court will be in session at 9:30 a.m. Thursday’s proceedings will be carried live on WRAL.com.

Here are the highlights from Wednesday’s proceedings:

  • Defense attorney Jonathan Trapp argued that Devin Clark, not Ross, shot Lyric Woods.
  • The parents of both murder victims also took the stand to talk about the last time they saw them. Dexter Clark and Elizabeth Cannada were emotional in describing the night of the murder.
  • Orange County Assistant District Attorney Anna Orr began by laying out the timeline of the evening of Sept. 16, 2022, when she said Woods snuck out of her mom’s house to meet up with Clark.
  • Other key witnesses spoke, including Orange County investigator Zack Baldwin and Orange County deputy Philip Susann. Baldwin walked the jury through some of the photos from the scene, including ones that showed a trail of blood.
  • Joseph Kiser and Jordan Wilson, the two men who found the bodies of Woods and Clark, also shared their experience.

Ross was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
