A Fulton County grand jury has indicted a man accused of making millions by performing cosmetic dental procedures without a license.
The investigation into Brandon Dillard resurfaced after Channel 2 consumer investigator Justin Gray first revealed his October 3, 2024 arrest, when authorities searched “A List Smiles Atlanta,” the northeast Atlanta business tied to his veneer work. Dillard built a following by calling himself Atlanta’s leading veneer expert, yet his arrest warrants claim he never held a dental license and still carried out veneer procedures on paying clients.
Newly filed court records show the November 21 indictment outlines a sprawling case, totaling 113 charges. Prosecutors listed accusations under the Georgia RICO Act along with dozens of theft by deception counts. The indictment also details allegations of practicing dentistry and medicine without a license, multiple battery charges, drug-related offenses, theft, commercial gambling, and two separate conspiracy cases, including one involving insurance fraud.
Investigators say these accusations trace back to procedures performed as early as 2021 and continuing through 2024. Although the State Dental Board issued Dillard a cease-and-desist letter at the start of 2024, authorities allege he kept offering veneer services.
One woman, Kristi Brown, told Channel 2 she paid Dillard $3,000 for partial veneers before her own dentist flagged concerns.
“He kept asking who did this. You need to be careful. Did he have a dentist certificate? I was like, I don’t remember seeing any of that. I should have known,” Brown said.
Prosecutors also contend Dillard profited by advertising training programs for veneer specialists, a title the state says does not legally exist.
His arraignment is scheduled for January.
