HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is investigating the discovery of a man’s body in Buffalo Bayou on Monday morning.
At 9:35 a.m., HPD said that its dive team recovered the body on 8300 High Level Road.
Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play and that the man appeared to have been dressed for fishing in the cold, wearing multiple layers of clothing.
Police said that detectives learned that there was a man who was reportedly missing and was last seen fishing on Jan. 26. Authorities said that the missing man’s vehicle and fishing equipment were also found on the shore nearby.
According to police, the man’s cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
