LOS ANGELES — Hulu’s new docuseries, “Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal,” offers a deep dive into the struggles and epic cultural impacts made by music’s biggest icons.

The series features episodes on Randy Rhoads, Kurt Struebing of NME, Judas Priest, Chuck Schuldiner from Death, Wendy O. Williams, Nikan Khosravi and Arash Ilkhani from Confess, Ann Boleyn of Hellion, and Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell.

While chatting with On The Red Carpet, “Into the Void” executive producers and co-creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, reveal they interviewed Sharon Osbourne just days after the late Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert. “It was shot at the end of July. So, it was within days of Ozzy’s final performance. Which was amazing that Sharon took the time out of her schedule to even sit with us and do an interview. It was pretty amazing just all things considered when it’s that monumental event. But, we’re so appreciative of her to do that,” Husney said.

Sharon, who broke down into tears in the docuseries while discussing the untimely death of guitarist Randy Rhoads, details what happened during the accident that took his life. “This story is just so intense and to realize she was there, literally there dealing with it and it being such a nightmare. And, her account of it is so harrowing, it’s very emotional,” Eisener explained.

“Into the Void” isn’t just for heavy metal fans, non-fans will enjoy watching the docuseries as well. Husney shared, “I think fans are going to be really happy to see these stories are treated with the respect that we gave them. And then I think for non-fans, they’re gonna be very excited to learn that ‘Wow, I’m gonna be deeply connecting and relating to these people in a very sincere way.’”

All eight episodes of “Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal” are streaming now on Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
