Interview: Dreamcatcher UAU On Unit Debut, Touring, & More!

[ad_1]

It’s safe to say our lives were changed when JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon made their debut as Dreamcatcher UAU. Their new EP has no skips, and we’ve been replaying it all summer! We just can’t get enough of these songs that are already setting up a killer discography.

Dreamcatcher UAU have been on their first-ever U.S. and Latin America tour for the past month. They will perform at The United Theater on Broadway this Sunday for their final U.S. stop in Los Angeles. Although we at THP are sadly unable to attend what would’ve been our favorite 2025 show, we welcome any and all concert videos on our timeline!

These girls are such gifted performers, and we hope to see them the next time they come to the States. Luckily for us, we got the chance to chat with JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon on all things debuting, touring, and more! Ready for our exclusive Dreamcatcher UAU interview yet? Let’s jump right in!

Dreamcatcher UAU Debut EP

Welcome to The Honey POP! We are so excited to chat with you and want to start by saying we’re so in love with your debut EP, Playlist #You Are You! With such a diverse set of songs, which of the songs best represents your own personality or style?
JiU: Since this is UAU’s very first EP, we really put a lot of effort into making sure each song reflects our unique personalities. ‘Sacrifice’ shows UAU’s more mature side, ‘2Months’ captures our bold and sassy vibe, ‘Attitude’ brings out our serious tone, and ‘Good Luck’ is all about our playful, mischievous charm.
We worked super hard on the music videos to match the vibe of each song, so please check them out!
And going forward, we’ll continue to show you many different sides of ourselves—not just one fixed image—so please look forward to discovering even more of our unique colors!

Dreamcatcher‘s discography has been defined by its signature rock sound, while still embracing genre experimentation. How did it feel to step away from that rock formula for your debut as a unit?
SuA: We all shared the same desire to present good music to our fans, so we truly enjoyed working together as UAU. Visually, it also allowed us to show a new side of ourselves. In that sense, it was another meaningful challenge, and we hope you’ll look forward to seeing the many different sides of us.

UAU In Grand America Tour

Congratulations on your first tour in the U.S. and Latin America! Which live performances or covers are you most looking forward to showing your fans?
SuA: What mattered most to me was being able to connect with our fans through every track on UAU. When I see InSomnia enjoying the music with such passion, it truly feels like the songs are finally complete and that makes me incredibly happy.

What has been the most noticeable difference between promoting and touring as a full seven-member group versus as a unit?
YOOHYEON: We were talking among ourselves, and one of the biggest differences is choosing what to eat! When all seven of us were together, we’d often go to places like the Japanese restaurant that Siyeon unnie loves, or the steakhouse Gahyeon really likes. But now, we don’t go to those as much. Hehe~ Lately, we’ve been going to the hotpot place I like a lot more often!

What’s Next

Between debuting as a unit and then going on tour, 2025 has been a year of big change for you. How do you think this new chapter will shape your music in the future? What music genres are you hoping to explore?
YOOHYEON: Going forward, I want to share music that isn’t limited to just one genre. In the past, we did a lot of rock, but these days I’ve been trying to explore all kinds of different styles. I’m really excited to show you even more diverse sounds in the future!

When I see InSomnia enjoying the music with such passion, it truly feels like the songs are finally complete and that makes me incredibly happy.
