This Fall, Grammy-winning live electronic act NERO will make their grand return to stages across the U.S. for their headline Into The Unknown Tour supporting their highly-anticipated third studio album, due out August 16.

Bringing their avant-garde musicality and transportive experience to iconic venues like New York’s Webster Hall and Los Angeles’ The Novo, the 16-date tour will feature a brand new hybrid live set performed by band members Daniel Stephens and Joe Ray. Frontwoman Alana Watson, who recently welcomed her third child with Stephens, will take a step back from this tour, but her presence is in no way diminished; Watson’s unmistakable aura is embedded throughout Into The Unknown

In the near-decade since their last tour, Stephens and Ray have performed select DJ sets as NERO, with the band returning in 2022 to support deadmau5 at Red Rocks. The show marked their first full live performance as a trio since the Between II Worlds Tour in 2015, which saw the band headline Coachella’s Outdoor Stage.

Last year, Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray, and Alana Watson reemerged as NERO with their first solo single, ‘Truth’, following a five-year hiatus. Their upcoming album Into The Unknown will serve as the final chapter in their album trilogy that began with the chart-topping, Platinum-selling Welcome Reality in 2011.

renowned, award-winning electronic music artist Ben Böhmer announces his first new studio album in three years, Bloom. The news comes alongside a brand new single, “Best Life,” featuring JONAH, and an announcement of an 8-stop run of live shows through the UK and Europe this fall. Bloom is set for release on September 27 via Ninja Tune.

Coming off a record-breaking world tour in support of his previous album, during which he sold out all dates months in advance, Ben Böhmer made a point to take time to himself and return to the space that compels him the most: his studio. It’s there that he’s able to truly channel his passion for spontaneous creativity and relentlessly focus on honing a craft that allows him to express deep, complex feelings. He tackled grief on his breakthrough debut album, Breathing, and separation on its follow-up, 2021’s Begin Again.

The success of those records, almost 1 billion streams and counting, and his ability to connect with audiences in a live setting—he played over 200 shows in 2022—propelled him down a track that felt at odds with what he wanted. Despite the accolades and sell-out events, he was being pulled in a direction that was not him. Bloom is a reset, a confident reassertion of his own desires and more improvisational origins. In Bloom, we hear and feel Ben’s growth, the joyful pursuit of newness that pulls him back to the studio day after day, season after season.

Lenka Morávková takes you on a multi-sensory journey with her unique glass invention otherwise known as the BOHEMIAN CRISTAL INSTRUMENT. BCI is not the first sonic endeavor that Morávková has embarked on, as she previously held a compelling background as an electronic producer under the moniker MY NAME IS ANN. Bordering on the edge between the dance floor and conceptual art, Morávková’s work as BOHEMIAN CRISTAL INSTRUMENT is rooted in global and personal collapses, an aesthetic of glitches and deconstruction, and an application of academic theories to performance practices.

Following Arcofield’s previously released singles; the debut being about a proposed cage fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, and the follow-up about TV legend Lorraine Kelly, this is the third offering ahead of his upcoming debut album ‘Songs About Famous People’.

The song sits on a vivid driven piano and drum pattern, encapsulating the narrative of a bizarre but intriguing storyline, whilst dipping into a dreamy Folk-esq bridge passage in the middle. It showcases Arcofield’s approach of giving the audience an overall unique experience, with a curious air of subconscious addiction where it’s impossible to stop listening.

The new release will also coincide with Taylor Swift’s arrival for the British leg of her tour in June 2024.

Arcofield describes his new single as:

A tense, ticking-clock melodrama, can Taylor and the song’s narrator flee their apartment before villainous landlord Ed arrives on the scene…”

Arcofield was once a teenage pianist, who lost his finger in an accident on his first day of work after leaving school. He quit the piano, took up the guitar, and discovered songwriting.

His upcoming album Songs About Famous People’ will also include songs about Emma Raducanu, Stephen Hawking and Vlad the Impaler.

Grammy-nominated artist Porter Robinson released the music video for the third single ‘Russian Roulette’ from his highly anticipated third studio album SMILE! 😀, releasing July 26th via MOM+POP. [Pre-order here]. The six-and-a-half minute song presents a departure from the album’s first two singles, laden with social commentary on the paradox of modern artistry, internet culture, and celebrity. The single is poised to be one of Porter’s most sincere and vulnerable songs to date, beginning to present the form of the full length – a record seemingly as up-tempo and accessible as it is shadowy, honest, and avant-garde.

“I’m always toying with and entertaining the idea of oblivion, of career suicide, of disappearing. In ‘Russian Roulette’, I’m trying to reconcile those fantasies against the real responsibilities that hang over me. And then it gets dark, and light all at the same time,” says Porter about the track.

The video for ‘Russian Roulette’ furthers the track’s mission by stitching together found-text sourced across social media comments and editorial content to present the lyrics through the mediums that they are examining. The result is a high-energy visual journey into the ethos of the artist.

Beya, a captivating fusion of Latina vibrancy (thanks to her Salvadoran roots) and an island enchanting essence of island upbringing, blossomed amidst California’s mountains and the islands. Her musical journey began with the influence inherited from her mother and great-grandmother’s ukelele strums and singing before she discovered the piano at 10 and the guitar at 16. Guided by her global escapades and musical explorations, Beya’s artistry transcends genres, effortlessly blending pop, world music, and the soulful rhythms of neo-soul and hip-hop. Drawing lyrical inspiration from Jack Johnson and musical influence from Amy Winehouse and Etta James, Beya embarks on a new chapter with a commitment to embracing her uniqueness and navigating life’s journey with a carefree spirit.

LA indie-dance band ASHRR are set to release new album ‘Sunshine Low’ on 20th September 2024 via 20/20 Vision Recordings (home to Maya Jane Coles, Soul Clap, Crazy P, and more). Formed by lead vocalist Steven Davis and producer-musician-vocalists Josh Charles and Ethan Allen; the outfit cast their net over electronic soul, post-punk, space disco and indie-dance. The trio catch a sound reflecting the melancholic haze of late summer combined with the thrill of late night adventure.

The third single taken from the album, ‘Deux Sons’ began as an improvised jam session. The track conjures the New Orleans gris-gris vibes that run deep in their musical history and marries it with a ’70’s soul inspired hook sung in French. Ethan explains, “The loose meaning of the lyrics with the two combined parts made sense as it’s a captivating journey into the heart of freedom and unity”.

ASHRR came together from varying backgrounds working in music. Josh started as a jazz pianist, mentored by the late Dr. John, before working in pop, rock, and country as a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter. Josh met Steven in Nashville, after both moved from NYC where Steven was headlining huge rooms, singing big band standards, as well as writing for film and TV. Then moving to LA, they were introduced to Ethan, a Grammy nominated engineer working with everyone from Ben Harper, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Mavis Staples.

Celebrated folk act Charles James & The Rise are thrilled to announce the release of their poignant new single, “Carry On”, on June 26th, 2024. This marks the first release from their highly anticipated debut album, recorded at Attica Audio and produced by the acclaimed Orri McBrearty (Rosie Carney).

“Carry On” delves into the aftermath of loss, reflecting on acceptance as a pivotal stage of grief. It explores the profound transformation experienced through mourning and the enduring strength required to move forward. Featuring the exquisite contributions of Steve Wickham (The Waterboys) on mandolin and strings, and John Doherty (Little Hours) on backing vocals, the track embodies the haunting, cinematic folk sound that defines Charles James & The Rise.

About the song Charles James says “I started writing this song a few years back after the sudden loss of my father. I’d followed in his footsteps with a career at sea and he’s also the reason I became a pilot so I was quite lost in the months after. I’d have dreams where he was still alive and Carry On was born out of that first few seconds after waking up, the sinking realisation that he was gone and I’d just have to get used to it.”

Hailing from Donegal, Ireland, Charles James & The Rise is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Charles James and Catherine O’Donnell. Known for their unique blend of cinematic folk with choral undertones, the band’s music is deeply influenced by the darker elements of the folk genre. While Charles, a Ship’s Pilot by trade, has spent two decades penning songs at sea, their music has been profoundly shaped by his experiences and the recent, poignant loss of his father in 2020.

The band’s career highlights include recording at the iconic Sun Studios in Memphis, headlining shows in Chicago, and performing live radio sessions on Windy City Radio in Chicago and WFPK in Louisville. They have shared stages with notable artists such as Ryan Sheridan, Moya Brennan, Blue Rose Code, The 4 of Us, Padraig Jack, and Grainne Hunt. Additionally, they have played at prominent venues from the North Pole Inn to Nashville and performed at Electric Picnic, one of Ireland’s largest music festivals.

Released on Friday is the highly anticipated debut EP, STEPS, from new artist Zach Ludlow. Steeped in the sounds of soul powered rock ‘n’ roll, the album consists of five tracks: the title track, “Steps,” soul ballad “Hold Me,” upbeat “All for You,” gritty Blues track “Don’t Waste Your Days” and Gospel-inspired closer “Higher Plain.”

Savile Row continue to focus on evolution.

An evolution of sound, style, and a reluctance to be forced into any one single genre.

Earlier recordings by the band feature a barrage of artists that the group brought in due for the love of their output. This included  collaborations with Chubb Rock, Princess Superstar, Kool Keith, Open Mike Eagle, Vast Aire (Cannibal Ox), Craig G (Juice Crew), Brad Fishcetti (LFO), and Sadat X (Brand Nubian).

More recently, the group have taken to a singular creative approach, forging more as a three man group as opposed to working on regular collaborations, (although there are still more on the horizon!)

Savile Row continue down the road of using Pop, HipHop, Dance and Rock elements to create a unique soundscape that is honest, catchy and soulful. Their vision has always been as a musical force able to blend all various styles that the members grew up listening to.

Their latest single “Got Away” is continued evidence of this ideal. The narrative is somewhat self-depricating, coming from the point of view of a person trying to change, but also aware that some people from their past might have ‘dodged a bullet’ by removing themselves from that person’s life.

An immersive beat paired with acoustic guitar licks provides a backbone, paving the way to a Boombap-esq self aware set of verses, chorus and hook that are both thought provoking but to the point.

The track was recorded and mixed by Marc Karmatz at Insane Sounds in Fort Lauderdale, FL and was written and produced by Savile Row. The single represents one of the final releases that will come out prior to the group’s debut full length “Toast the Journey” due out in late 2024.

They are also working on a special release collaboration with Pop legend Tiffany that will be released prior to the album.

Audaciously daring Atlanta cabaret punk rock band Sarah And The Safe Word is heading out on tour this summer with The Weekend Run Club + Machinery of the Human Heart. The trek kicks off on June 26 in Washington, DC and winds down on July 7 in Denver, CO. See dates below. Tickets available at: linktr.ee/sarahandthesafeword.

“Let There Be Nothing” is the first single from Ella Thompson’s upcoming album, due to be released later this year courtesy of HopeStreet Recordings. You can also watch the music video HERE

The track drops on July 11th, and is a soulful slice of cinematic pop that blends elements of soul, R&B and jazz into melodic, accessible pop that speaks to accepting something for what it is, without trying to change or fix it – and then making the choices you need to make. That moment of realization can be sad and incredibly difficult, but on the other side is freedom.

country/pop sensation Caldwell shares his new single “Beer & Baddies,” destined to be a fan favorite and instant summer party anthem. In addition to dropping the rollicking new single, Caldwell has also released two fresh versions of the song — a soulful country mix and a high-energy EDM mix — with each showcasing the diverse facets of his artistry and his uniquely versatile style.

Brooklyn-based psych rock quintet ZEBEDEE share the Jeremy Bastard remix of their new single “For God’s Sake” out now. The group’s sophomore studio album Going Nowhere Fast is due out August 2 and available for pre-order now. The band is set to play live across New York City this Summer including at Crown Hill Theatre on July 7 supporting Mark Kelly, Kirk Douglas of the Roots and members of Living Color. Get tickets here.

The “For God’s Sake” (Jeremy Bastard Remix) out today is a new take on the recent single by ZEBEDEE. Lead guitarist and vocalist Zebedee Row is thrilled to get to work with Bastard on the reworked version of the latest single. Row says on the new, cutting version, “I’ve wanted to work with Jeremy Bastard for a while. I catch his sets around NYC all the time, and I’m a big fan of his band Autodrone. I really let him do his “industrial thing” to create something wild and completely different. I hope the kids appreciate it as much as I do.” The original track nostalgically recalls the freedom and innocence of growing up, in this case for Row, in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The remix takes a dark wave spin that gives the song a completely different energy that’s entirely its own.

Sylo, one of the alternative-R&B renaissance’s most mature and vulnerable voices, today announces that his heavily anticipated new project dreamt that I was will be released on July 25 via The Orchard — Pre-save

This news comes along with the release of the third single “Babyboo” featuring sonic-globetrotter Nonso Amadi, out now. Produced by Goldchain, “Babyboo” is an amalgamation of so many different genres, intersecting with both artists’ varying global influences. It’s a track that speaks to the universality of how music has always communicated sincere love— Stream.

On collaborating with Nonso Amadi, Sylo said, “This song came out of the first session we ever did with Nonso. We caught pure magic but didn’t quite have a home to place it in at the time. It’s been 3 years now and I’m glad we stuck it out to finally share it with the world.”

Nonso chimed in, “‘Babyboo’ is one of my favorite records. I’m super excited to be on it. Sylo and I, along with a couple other amazing creatives, worked on this song a few years back, and there has been a lot of fine tuning and reworking to get to where it’s at right now. I believe this song can be played across the world on many different stages and connect with audiences from different backgrounds.”

Ska-punk legends Less Than Jake have released their newest single “Broken Words” – out now via Pure Noise Records – marking the band’s first original music in years. This track explores the theme of miscommunication and the frustration of messages getting lost in translation. A culmination of their best work yet, “Broken Words” delivers the ska, the pop-punk, and the horn lines that feel like a Less Than Jake party. Fans can check out the single and music video, here: https://youtu.be/aOINRkPIrqs.

Hey guys! 2024 brings us some new LTJ songs, and this is a fun one!” shares Roger Lima. “‘Broken Words’ has the ska, the pop-punk, and the horn lines that feel like a party and I can’t wait to belt this one out on stage!

He continues: “It happens to me, too. I’ll try to say something, (maybe I didn’t choose the best words, but I tried), they get misinterpreted and I end up unintentionally communicating something I didn’t mean at all. Know that feeling? Yeah, words are totally broken sometimes.

Hot Mulligan released a new song and music video for “End Eric Sparrow and the Life of Him.” Renowned for their cathartic lyrics and infectious riffs, this new track gives their rapidly growing fan base a nostalgic, post-emo anthem to blast through their speakers.

Watch the music video “End Eric Sparrow and the Life of Him” here and stream the song here.

Lead singer Tades Sanville explains his thoughts on the song below:

“Eric Sparrow beat everyone’s ass in Tony Hawk, and this is what he has wrought. I am not a frontman but have been shoehorned into that role. Interviews where they ask the same questions over and over, strangers running up and touching me at shows, and tons of people dissecting everything they hear me say. Trading tight-knit local scenes for plastic and profiteers. I think a lot of the time that it would be better if my body stayed and didn’t think about it and enjoyed the limelight. Then the part that thinks and gets sad can just disappear. But then who can write?”

This release arrives just before the band returns to Europe, kicking off their summer festival run with select headlining dates in Germany, France, and the UK. Following their journey overseas, they will return to the US in August to headline festivals including the Loneliest Place on Earth, Ohio Is for Lovers, and Riot Fest. Tickets for all shows are on sale now at https://hotmulligan.band/

Australian multi-platinum artist Hayden James has announced his forthcoming third studio album We Could Be Love out September 13 via Future Classic. The announcement arrives with his latest single ‘Deep Diving’ featuring UK songstress SHELLS, out now, and a slate of headline tour dates throughout North America this Fall.

We Could Be Love is a wondrous capsule of James’ recent years spent in the United States performing at festivals like Electric Forest and HARD Summer. The album bridges his roots in Australia’s house music scene with the influences of American underground sounds, melding his past and present inspirations while exploring his craftsmanship as a songwriter and upbeat inclinations as a DJ.

James’ latest single, ‘Deep Diving’, serves as the catalyst for We Could Be Love, seamlessly balancing his pop sensibilities and dance floor motivations. A nod to James’ 2016-released ‘Just A Lover’, the track ripples with thumping bass lines and deep kicks that bubble beneath SHELLS’ hazy vocals. Existing between the worlds of classic house and indie dance, ‘Deep Diving’ beautifully showcases the sonic duality displayed throughout his upcoming full-length.

Grammy-winning live electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL are back, unveiling their highly anticipated new single “Music is Better” via Rose Avenue/Warner Records. Listen HERE.

The group first premiered the song during their headline DJ set at Coachella earlier this year, and marks RÜFÜS DU SOL’s first new music since their 2021 Grammy-nominated album, Surrender. The long-awaited single captures the themes of hope, intimacy, and connection that have long defined the RÜFÜS universe, while showcasing a more expansive and ambitious sound than ever before.

Music is Better” offers a window into a new creative groove for the band, a new era that is defined by creating from the now and enjoying the process, continuing to create art that binds organic and electronic. The single adds to a catalog that soundtracks life’s most formidable moments for an entire generation of music fans – from heartbreak to romance, euphoria and despair.

Grammy-winning, Ivor Novello-nominated live electronic trio NERO have unveiled their latest single ‘Too Many Questions’ off their highly-anticipated album Into The Unknown

An enticing parlay into the next phase of Into The Unknown, ‘Too Many Questions’ is a sharp turn from the album’s preceding singles. Diverging from the hard-hitting drum & bass of ‘Blame You’ and dark, mechanical sounds of ‘Draw Energy’, ‘Too Many Questions’ dips into UK garage and house styles, showcasing the sonic depth threaded throughout their impending third album. Initially written during the creation of Between II Worlds, ‘Too Many Questions’ is led by Alana Watson’s intimate vocal performance and spellbinding lyricism reminiscent of their Welcome Reality hit ‘Promises’.

“We found the vocal recently in an old forgotten folder. It was originally a verse and bridge idea Alana had written for ‘Two Minds’ (2015). On discovering it, we knew straight away we wanted to make a garage house track for it.” – NERO
