According to the Polk County sheriff, a man stabbed his mother to death Saturday afternoon. Sheriff Grady Judd said the man, identified as Emmanuel Espinoza, was coming from Gainesville to Frostproof for a family event. According to Judd, Espinoza arrived to his mother’s house around 2 p.m., and when she opened the door, he stabbed her several times. The victim was identified as 46-year-old Elvia Espinoza, who Judd says was a teacher at Ben Hill Griffin Elementary School.”As soon as he murdered her, he dialed 911 and immediately confessed to the 911 operators,” Judd said. According to the sheriff, while speaking with investigators, Emmanuel said to them, “She got on my nerves,” and claimed he’d wanted to kill his mother for years. “It’s a very sad day with an inexplicable, vicious murder,” Judd said. Emmanuel is in custody on the charges of first-degree murder and has been cooperating with the investigation. According to Judd, Espinoza arrived to his mother’s house around 2 p.m., and when she opened the door, he stabbed her several times.
