Ike Turner Jr., Son of Tina and Ike Turner, Dies at 67 After Stroke

Ike Turner Jr., the son of music stars Ike Turner and Tina Turner, has died at the age of 67. The news was confirmed by Tina’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, who shared that Ike Jr. passed away Saturday at a Los Angeles hospital following a battle with kidney failure.

“He’d battled severe heart issues for years,” Bullock told TMZ. Ike Jr.’s health had reportedly been in steady decline, and he suffered a stroke in early September, further complicating his condition.

Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was brought into Tina Turner’s life when she adopted him during her marriage to Ike Sr. Growing up surrounded by music and fame, he witnessed firsthand the highs and lows of his parents’ tumultuous relationship and groundbreaking careers.

Though he mostly remained out of the public eye, Ike Jr. did spend a short period working as a sound engineer for Tina Turner following her separation from Ike Sr.

Ike Jr. was one of four children closely tied to the iconic Turner union. Unlike his famous parents, he opted for a quieter life and rarely made headlines. Still, his connection to two of music’s most legendary figures ensured his place in pop culture history.

His father, Ike Sr., died in 2007. Tina Turner passed away in 2023. Tina’s biological son, Craig, died by suicide in July 2018, and her other child, Ronnie, passed away from colon cancer four years later.
