(KRON) — ICEBlock, an app that enabled users to track the movement of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, was removed from the Apple App Store on Thursday. According to a post from the app’s creators, they received a message from Apple’s App Review informing them that ICEBlock had been removed from the platform due to “objectionable content.”
“The only thing we can imagine is this is due to pressure from the Trump Admin,” the app’s creators wrote in a post on Bluesky. “We have responded and we’ll fight this!”

The ICEBlock app relied on crowdsourced information sharing to flag sightings of ICE agents and was available for free at the App Store. As of Friday morning, KRON4 confirmed that the app was no longer available for download via iPhone.
As of last month, the app’s developer said ICEBlock had more than 1 million users.
Apple said it removes apps like ICEBlock due to potential risks that were raised by law enforcement. Last month, officials said that a gunman who opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas had searched for apps that tracked ICE agents.
“We created the App Store to be a safe and trusted place to discover apps,” Apple said in a statement. “Based on information we’ve received from law enforcement about the safety risks associated with ICEBlock, we have removed it and similar apps from the App Store.”
Although the app has been removed from the marketplace, those who have already downloaded ICEBlock should still be able to use it.
