Since moving to the East Coast from sunny California roughly 10 years ago, a lot in my lifestyle has changed—and my closet has followed suit. Aside from investing in sensible footwear for everyday, cold-weather accessories for winter, and large but lightweight totes for schlepping, I’ve become somewhat of an outerwear connoisseur. Whether the temperature is 74° or 47°, I’ve got the jacket for it. Dark, light, linen, shearling, classic, trendy—you name it, I’ve collected it.

I especially love shopping for fall jackets, in particular, because you can go a little heavier than spring and summer, but don’t have to go full puffer mode like you do in winter. It’s a nice in-between space that lends itself to some seriously stunning toppers. Think satin, wool, cashmere, and more.
