How’s the weather looking for Halloween? 🎃
[ad_1]
As of this article, we are just eight days away from Halloween.
Whether you’re dressing up Harry the Hunter from ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ the Costco Guys from TikTok or something more traditional like a ghost or a zombie, we’ve got you covered on a long-range forecast.
Some details may change, but the pattern looks pretty locked in ahead of this year’s ghoulish sugar rush!
Temperatures from morning to afternoon are currently projected to be about ten degrees above average.
Most forecast data shows an area of high pressure off the East Coast. Clockwise flow around it brings warmer air in from the southwest.
At the same time, a front separates that warmer air from colder air to the northwest. Along that temperature boundary, you typically see rain. Since the boundary appears to be farther northwest, our rain chances appear very low for the time being.
Trick-or-treat temperatures will likely start around the low 70s and drop into the 60s later in the evening.
One thing to note while trick-or-treating at night is that the moon will be entering its “new” phase, meaning that it’s essentially not visible.
Sorry, werewolves: No howling at the moon this time.
Make sure you’re walking in well-lit areas if you plan on being out past sunset (6:22 p.m.).
Assuming that we reach 78° on Halloween, that would tie for the sixth-warmest Halloween on record. Below are some of the extremes we’ve seen from the ghost of Halloween weather’s past!
Keep checking back with the WRAL News app for updates on the Halloween forecast as we get closer.
If you get any good pictures while you’re trick-or-treating, send them to us via WRAL Weather Watchers for a chance to be featured on air the following day!
