The most exciting name on this list is Kemba Walker, who is arguably (or maybe inarguably) the best player in the history of the Hornets franchise. Heβs the teamβs all time leader in a lot of categories, most notably points and 3-pointers made. He announced his retirement from playing on Tuesday, which opened the door for him to take on a role for his favorite team on the staff. I donβt think there could be a more exciting announcement for an assistant on the staff. I donβt know what a player enhancement coach is though. Weβll have to wait for him to update LinkedIn or something.
Itβs a much younger staff than we saw working with Steve Clifford, but all of them have pretty significant experience rising through the ranks of the coaching world, and several have high level playing experience as well. Theyβll surely bring some different ideas to the table than we saw under the previous staff. Weβll see if thatβs a good or bad thing.
