The cause of the fire is still under investigation but authorities believe it was a lithium battery.
OLNEY, Md. — A house fire Friday afternoon displaced two adults and two dogs, another dog died. Authorities believe the fire started due to a lithium battery from outside the home.
At around 2:24 p.m., around 75 firefighters from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to Holly View Court in Olney, Md. The homeowner called 911 after he heard a loud pop outside of his home and his home filled with smoke. When crews arrived on scene, they found the fire in the back of the house.
Two adults and two dogs escaped and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A third dog was removed from the home by firefighters but died from its injuries.
