The Guardians Force A Game 5 Saturday Afternoon

The Cleveland Guardians will play the Detroit Tigers in a deciding Game 5 of the American League Division Series tomorrow, but it won’t be during the original primetime TV slot.

And it’s Cleveland, so of course we can all blame the weather.

The Guardians announced on social media today that the time of their next game has been adjusted to 1:08 p.m.

“Due to impending weather, in coordination with Major League Baseball, tomorrow’s first pitch has been moved to 1:08 PM ET,” the Guards said on Instagram. “Gates will now open at 11 AM ET”.

The Guardians opened the series with a 7-0 victory last Saturday. They then went on to drop the next two games while the offense slumped, getting shutout in games 2 and 3. Cleveland was able to even the series yesterday with heroics from Jose Ramirez (HR) and David Fry – who suicide-squeezed in a huge insurance run late, after nailing a pinch-hit, go-ahead 2-run home run in the 7th inning.

Now Cleveland hopes it can rely on the hometown crowd to fuel a winner-take-all victory Saturday afternoon.

The winner will play the New York Yankees in the American League Championship series.
