WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – A local organization Thursday night hosted a special networking event in Wilbraham giving attendees the chance to unwind and connect.
Many visited the Fieldcrest Brewing Company for Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity (GSHFH) 3rd “Hang with Habitat” event. The atmosphere allowed people to get to know more about the work they do around the area and network with their staff and board of directors.
22News spoke to a rep about why it’s important for them to connect with the community. “We want people to be educated about our mission, the fact that we do build houses and repair houses in Hampden County most people don’t know that and it’s also important for volunteerism and donations – just everything like that. Just getting the word out about next events and stuff like that,” said Greater Springfield Habitat of Humanity Homeowner Programs coordinator, Olga Callirgos.
Beer passports for GSHFH Hops for Habitat were available at the event. Passport holders can get a pint at nine local breweries, have their passports stamped, and get a gift from the brewery equal to their purchase. Once the passport holder has nine stamps – one for each brewery – they can return the passport to GSHFH or one of the listed breweries by June 30, 2024, to be entered into a raffle.
All proceeds from beer passport sales Thursday night go to support the organization. Another “Hang with Habitat” event is coming up on August 18th.
