Grass Valley mother allegedly killed by son, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office says

GRASS VALLEY, Calif. — The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is dead after being shot by her son on Friday.

Law enforcement says they responded to a home on Glen Meadow Drive in Grass Valley for a disturbance call. Once on scene, they found the woman with “major injuries that required immediate medical attention.” She was taken to a Placer County hospital, where she died from her injuries. 

Deputies add that her son fled on a motorcycle from the scene, and a brief chase happened. The chase ended at the intersection of Squirrel Creek Rd. and Adam Avenue, where law enforcement says the suspect took his own life. 

Law enforcement says the names of the mother and son will be released after next of kin notifications are done.
