Details about the anniversary broadcast remain under wraps, but host George Stephanopoulos teased “a morning full of surprises” and “memorable moments.”

WASHINGTON — Good Morning America is turning 50, and ABC is planning a golden celebration to mark the occasion.

The long-running morning show will commemorate its half-century milestone with a special live broadcast airing Monday, Nov. 3, at 7 a.m. ET, featuring surprises, throwbacks and appearances from past and present hosts.

“Next Monday, you’re invited to an incredible morning party 50 years in the making,” a voiceover teased during the Monday, Oct. 27 broadcast. Co-anchor Robin Roberts added from the show’s Times Square studio, “It’s gonna be fun.”

Good Morning America premiered in 1975 with original hosts David Hartman and Nancy Dussault. Over the decades, it has become one of television’s most enduring franchises, helmed by an array of iconic anchors including Charles Gibson, Joan Lunden, Lisa McRee and Diane Sawyer.

Today’s anchor trio — Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan — has led the show since 2016, alongside Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, Sam Champion, Rebecca Jarvis, Matt Gutman, Will Reeve and Linsey Davis.

Ahead of the main event, GMA kicked off the celebration a week before the show’s anniversary with a special “Deals and Steals” segment featuring viewer-favorite products from over the years, discounted up to 60% off. Monday’s episode also featured a retrospective on the anchors’ globe-spanning coverage — from Roberts reporting in India to Stephanopoulos in Moscow and Zee exploring a cave in Vietnam.

A few months before celebrating its 50th anniversary, the show went through a big change: ditching the iconic Times Square set they’ve taped episodes from since 1999.

“Good Morning America” relocated to Disney’s new New York City headquarters, the Robert A. Iger Building. Located at 7 Hudson Square, the 22-story building spans an entire city block and includes TV studios, live audience space, wellness areas, and production offices.
