Prince George’s County police arrested a suspect linked to a fatal Glenarden shooting after he allegedly fired at them.
GLENARDEN, Md. — Prince George’s County police have arrested a suspect in connection with the deadly shooting in Glenarden after the man allegedly fired his weapon at them Wednesday evening.
Police have not identified the suspect, who they reported taking into custody around 8:15 p.m. in the 8600 block of Fulton Avenue.
According to police, they noticed the man pulling out a gun as they drove past. The man reportedly fired at their vehicle, but none of them were hit. None of the officers returned fire.
They were able to catch the suspect as he tried to enter what they described as an occupied vehicle.
The incident unfolded after police responded to the 2400 block of Brightseat Road around 6:40 p.m. for a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot in a stairwell. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has not been identified.
