Gas in Denver is among the cheapest nationwide: AAA
[ad_1]
DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver metro area has some of the cheapest gas nationwide, according to data from AAA.
A gallon of gas in the Denver metro area costs, on average, $3.002. This is the fifth cheapest gas in the nation.
While that thousandth of a cent may not look like much, it does add up. For a 15-gallon tank of gas, that $0.002 would add 3 cents to your bill, which is why it is still important to include in the full price-per-gallon.
Colorado Springs beat out Denver to claim the cheapest gas nationwide, with a gallon costing $2.952, or exactly 5 cents cheaper on average.
Additionally, Colorado has the second-lowest gas in the country, second only to Mississippi.
- Colorado Springs – $2.952 per gallon
- Casper, Wyoming – $2.956 per gallon
- Lubbock, Texas – $2.979 per gallon
- Tyler, Texas – $2.993 per gallon
- Denver – $3.002 per gallon
Gas in Denver is just over $2 cheaper per gallon than in Lihue, Hawaii, where the most expensive gas in the country can be found at $5.196 a gallon.
Gas prices across Colorado have dropped in the last year, with Denver and other metro areas seeing the most dramatic decreases in the country.
For context, this time last year, Denverites had to spend $3.743 on average for a gallon of gas, a difference of over 74 cents.
