A person barricaded inside a Franklin County home with a gun has fired shots at deputies on Twin
Creek Drive, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said they were called just before 5:30 p.m. to Twin Creek Drive on Monday.

The sheriff’s office said someone heard gunshots from
inside the home. However, the sheriff’s office had no reports of injuries as of
8 p.m. on Monday.

Family on the scene say the suspects is a 70-year-old man named
Fritz Fink. Family members told WRAL News he has COPD and likely dementia.

Family members said they believe he was “very, very drunk” and began
shooting at the walls. They are asking him to come out peacefully.

Deputies are limiting access in and out of the subdivision.
The investigation is still ongoing.
